The Royal Shakespeare Company creates theatre at its best, made in Stratford-upon-Avon and shared around the world. We produce an inspirational artistic programme each year, setting Shakespeare in context, alongside the work of his contemporaries and today’s writers.
Everyone at the RSC - from actors to armourers, musicians to technicians - plays a part in creating the world you see on stage. All our productions begin life at our Stratford workshops and theatres and we bring them to the widest possible audience through our touring, residencies, live broadcasts and online activity. So wherever you experience the RSC, you experience work made in Shakespeare’s home town.
We have trained generations of the very best theatre makers and we continue to nurture the talent of the future. We encourage everyone to enjoy a lifelong relationship with Shakespeare and live theatre. We reach 530,000 children and young people annually through our education work, transforming their experiences in the classroom, in performance and online.
We are the UK’s leading Performance Capture studio and the only commercially available facility in London. We revolutionize how stories might be visualised by developing and applying the latest innovations in Performance Capture technology.
The Imaginarium Studios offers the complete range of performance capture services and brings together everything that our partners might need across pre-production, production and post-production. We’ve developed numerous cutting-edge technologies to aide in every step of the creative and capture process.
Magic Leap’s mission is to harmonize people and technology to create a better, more unified world. MIXED REALITY WORK
The Royal Shakespeare Company’s The Seven Ages of Man
The Seven Ages of Man / United Kingdom (Lead Artists: Royal Shakespeare Company, Magic Leap, Key Collaborators: Jessica Curry, Gregory Doran [Royal Shakespeare Company], Andy Lanning, John Monos [Magic Leap]) — The Royal Shakespeare Company explores the future of theatre with Magic Leap in this sublime production of the “Seven Ages of Man” speech from Shakespeare’s As You Like It. Here they present a mixed reality experience using cutting-edge volumetric capture with Shakespearean actor Robert Gilbert and an original musical score by award-winning composer Jessica Curry. The line “all the world’s a stage” turns literal as users experience the play in multiple and simultaneous places.
